ALPHARETTA MAN GUILTY OF MOLESTING TWO DAUGHTERS

12-Year-Old Says Dad Performed Sex Acts on Her for Benefit of Webcam Viewers

Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces the conviction by guilty plea of Alpharetta resident Steven Pease. The 40-year-old father of three girls pled guilty to one count of rape, one count of incest, two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of child molestation in Fulton County Superior Court today. He will be sentenced later this month.

Pease has been held without bond in the Fulton County Jail since August 2006. That's when his 12-year-old daughter reported she had been raped by her father from March 2006 through August 2006. She told authorities she reported the abuse to a friend's mother when she saw her 7-year-old sister coming from her father's bedroom with her pants down. The 12-year-old said her father would call her into his bedroom in the morning when her mother left for work. She said Pease had a webcam set up in his bedroom and would communicate with people in other countries who tuned in. The girl said her father would perform various sex acts on her as requested by webcam viewers.

Pease will be sentenced on the charges by Superior Court Judge John Goger on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Assistant District Attorney Chuck Boring, who prosecuted the case, say the DA's Office is seeking a term of life in prison.
