DOUBLE LIFE SENTENCES FOR KILLERS OF STANDOUT HIGH
SCHOOL STUDENT Atlanta- Fulton County jurors have returned guilty verdicts against two men charged in the armed robbery and shooting death of 17-year old Washington High School Student Kyle Moore. Maurice Aikens, 24 and Edward Wallace, 25, were convicted on all charges including Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Moore was killed on May 3, 2007 while standing at a Marta bus stop in Atlanta. Authorities say the men approached the teenager at gunpoint and demanded his cell phone and wallet. He was gunned down with a barrage of bullets after giving the robbers what they asked for. According to testimony, Wallace, the triggerman, bragged about the crime and even boldly attended a memorial service for the victim---signing a giant sympathy card on display while there. Shortly after the murder, he had the words, "unknown killer" tattooed on his arms. Jurors deliberated approximately two hours before returning their guilty
verdicts. Judge Christopher Brasher, who presided over the case, sentenced
each man to two consecutive life sentences plus 10 years. A third defendant,
LaDasha Eison, Maurice Aikens' girlfriend, testified against the two
men. She was the lookout the night of the murder and will be tried at
a later date. Senior Assistant District Attorney Tanya Miller prosecuted
the case with assistance from ADA Matthew Carlton. Media Contact: Yvette Brown, 404-224-0560/404-392-8867,
