BOND HEARING IN DOG FIGHTING CASE SET FOR MONDAY A plea and arraignment and bond hearing is scheduled for Monday in the dog fighting case of Ossia Phillips (aka Ossie Phillips). The defendant is charged with one count each of dog fighting and cruelty to animals. On December 21, 2007, a hunter came upon the burned remains of dogs in the woods behind the defendant's Blanton Avenue home. Authorities found the remains of four dogs-some with blunt force trauma to the head-as well as d0g fighting paraphernalia. The 31-year-old Phillips was arrested and thirteen dogs were taken into custody by Fulton County animal control. The hearing will be held Monday, February 18th at 9:30 a.m. in courtroom 4-F before Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford. Senior Assistant ADA Laura Janssen is prosecuting the case.
