MICHAEL PAGE SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON
DEFENDANT FOUND GUILTY IN 2003 SHOOTING, ROBBERY Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that, following his conviction on charges of felony murder (two counts), aggravated assault, and armed robbery; Michael Page (25) has been sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for the 18 February 2003 murder of Leonard Watts (24). Page shot and killed Mr. Watts, who was visiting from Louisiana, in front of 3545 Leigh Circle in East Point as the victim loaded his car in preparation for his return home. Page fled in the victim's vehicle and later fled to New York but was returned to Georgia a few months later. Senior Assistant District Attorney Kimberly Staten-Hayes prosecuted the case; East Point Police Detective B. Mabry investigated; and Judge Alice Bonner presided.
