PROSECUTORS OF FLORIDA MILLIONAIRE JAMES SULLIVAN

TO RECEIVE AWARD ON AMELIA ISLAND

You’ve seen them on television shows like the CBS 48-Hours Mystery and you watched their riveting performances live on Court TV. Now the team of veteran Atlanta prosecutors who brought millionaire fugitive James Vincent Sullivan to justice is receiving the highest award given by the National District Attorneys Association.

The “Home-Run Hitters” Award will be presented to Anna Green, Kellie Stevens Hill, Sheila Ross and Clint Rucker on Saturday, April 14, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at the Amelia Island Plantation where the NDAA is holding its annual Board of Directors meeting. The award was initiated in 2003 by NDAA members Ray Larson of Kentucky and Bob Honecker of New Jersey to honor those prosecutors who score a “big hit” for their office. In addition to being recognized by their peers as the best in the nation, the winners receive a genuine Louisville Slugger baseball bat inscribed with their names.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. assembled the team to try Sullivan who had spent 19 years as a fugitive accused of hiring someone to murder his estranged wife. In 1987, Sullivan and the 35-year-old Lita McClinton Sullivan were finalizing a particularly contentious divorce when she was gunned down at her front door on the 16th. Sullivan paid hit-man Tony Harwood $25-thousand dollars to commit the murder. Sullivan was convicted in March of 2006. He is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
