‘DOG CAGE PIMP’ INDICTED FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Atlanta- An alleged local pimp has been indicted along with two other men and four women for the kidnapping and assault of woman who tried to escape a life of prostitution. 28-year old David L. Walker, the accused pimp, David Davidson, 24, Anthony Davidson, 25, Amber Knight, 25, Whitney Luckett, 26, Robertenette Gordon-Deaver, 22 and Keyanna Powell, 20 are charged in varying degree in an eleven-count indictment handed down by a Fulton County Grand Jury today.

The charges are as follows:

Since pimping and pandering are misdemeanors, the District Attorney’s Office sought for the first time ever to charge Defendant David Walker under a relatively new Georgia Statute (O.C.G.A 16-5-46) with human trafficking—which places the offense of pimping in a felony category. If convicted, Walker faces up to 20-years in prison on that charge and life for kidnapping.

The defendants are charged in connection with the April 1, 2010 assault on a 21-year old woman who worked as a prostitute for David Walker. The victim had run away from Walker in an attempt to escape her life of prostitution. When she was forcibly returned, she was beaten by the female defendants under Walker’s direction and forced to sleep in a feces and urine-lined dog cage used to house a Pit Bull. The victim was discovered by police following a tip and hospitalized for her injuries.

Following today’s indictment, the case will be assigned to a Superior Court Judge and scheduled for trial.
