PIMP PLEADS GUILTY TO PROSTITUTING TEENAGE GIRLS

Defendant Busted During Undercover ‘Sting’

Atlanta- 26-year old Christopher Heard, an admitted pimp, will spend the next twenty years in jail for prostituting two teenage girls. Heard pled guilty this morning to Pimping and Pandering a minor (two counts on each charge), Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Theft by receiving stolen property and Giving a false name to a Law Enforcement Officer. He was sentenced immediately by Judge Michael Stoddard.

On November 13, 2007, an undercover officer spotted a 15-year old girl and her 14-year old friend walking on Metropolitan Avenue, an area of town known for prostitution. The girls directed the officer to a nearby house where Defendant Heard was located. The defendant then offered to have both girls perform various sex acts with the undercover officer for a total of $140. Heard then asked the officer to follow him to a different location where he and another man drove the girls in a stolen car. While en route, officers in a marked police car attempted to pull the defendant over. He instead accelerated and attempted to flee—at one point jumping out of the moving car. The vehicle crashed into a tree but the girls survived without injury. The other male passenger escaped on foot. Police found Defendant Heard hiding between a house and a truck. He initially gave police a false name and claimed he was simply in the area awaiting a ride.

As a result of his conviction on the charges of Pimping and Pandering a minor, Heard is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Kate Thornton of the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit with assistance from DA Investigator Cindy Williamson. Detective J. Jackson led the initial investigation.
