West End Rapist Convicted of Series of Assaults that Terrorized Southwest Atlanta Raymond Clark Guilty of 2003 Rapes, Kidnappings, More AtlantaFulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that Raymond B. Clark (27) has been convicted for a string of sexual assaults on women in April 2003. Clark was found guilty of rape (six counts), kidnapping (seven counts), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (five counts), aggravated child molestation (three counts), and armed robbery (three counts). The charges stemmed from a series of attacks on seven female victims ranging in age from 14 to 22 in the West End neighborhood of southwest Atlanta over a period of eight days. The defendant approached some of the victims under the guise of being a talent scout looking for models, while others, he simply abducted at gunpoint. Clark assaulted some of the victims in abandoned houses and others in his car in a variety of locations in southwest Atlanta. At the time of his arrest, Clark was in possession of numerous names and contact numbers of other females. Sentencing has been delayed until later this month, but the defendant faces numerous life sentences. Senior Assistant District Attorney Ash Joshi and Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Patricia Jackson prosecuted the case. Atlanta Police Detectives C. Whitmire, S. Purvis, and S. Wisenburg, along with Investigators Will McCombs and Tina Fleming of the District Attorneys Office, investigated. Judge T. Jackson Bedford presided.
