DA's ANNUAL 5th GRADE MOCK TRIAL CONTEST SET FOR TOMORROW Eight Atlanta Elementary Schools Compete for Trophies in the Case of State of Georgia v. James Sturgess Need a "good" news story? This is it! For ten weeks, students from eight Atlanta Public Schools elementary schools have been working hard, studying the case of the State v. James Sturgess. Tomorrow, May 14th, at 10:00 a.m., they put their skills to the test in four mock trials. Since the program was introduced in 1996, Fulton prosecutors and staff have volunteered their time bi-weekly to introduce the youngsters to the law, legal ethics and the principles of good citizenship. The course culminates in a mock trial and awards ceremony. Trophies are presented in ten categories including Best School in Overall Performance.
