ATTENDANCE UP--AT PARTNERSHIP FOR PERFECT ATTENDANCE SCHOOLS

Fulton DA and Partners Reward Kids at Adamsville, Oglethorpe and Thomasville Heights with Free Bikes!

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., AirTran Airways, the Dwight Howard Foundation and Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. are marking the second year of the Partnership for Perfect Attendance Program at three APS elementary schools, Wednesday, May 16, 2007. With the promise of a new bicycle and helmet as enticement, the combined perfect attendance at Adamsville, Oglethorpe and Thomasville Heights elementary schools increased by 31%. This year, 206 students will receive bicycles and helmets and one household from each school will receive a $500 Wal-Mart gift card. One teacher most responsible for perfect attendance at each school will win a trip to Las Vegas, air fare courtesy of PPA partner AirTran Airways.

The PPA partners believe that academic excellence begins with consistent school attendance. PPA reminds and encourages students to remember that their attendance is a stepping-stone to on-going academic success. PPA hopes to expand to include additional schools next year.
