AMBUSH MURDER, SPITTING SHOPLIFTER SET FOR TRIAL THIS WEEK
State vs. Mark Thornton Dijuan Marshall, Wayne Mayers, Simeon Slade and Anthony Brooks
The above-named defendants are accused of planning and executing the November 18, 2008 attempted armed robbery and murder of Joshua Scott in College Park. Scott was gunned down in his Forest Down Circle home after armed men kicked in his door and shot him. The victim was able to fire a shot back but later died from his wounds. The defendants are charged with Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Attempt Armed Robbery, Burglary, Conspiracy and weapons charges. Jury selection is currently underway in courtroom 5E with Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig Schwall presiding.
State vs. Sean Johnson
Defendant Johnson is accused of shoplifting $300 worth of clothes from Bloomingdales at Lenox Mall on January 17, 2009. While being transported to the holding cell, the accused resisted arrest, became combative and later spat on the walls of the holding cell while threatening security guards with violence. Johnson is charged with Felony Theft by Shoplifting, Felony Obstruction and two counts of Terroristic Threats. Judge Michael Johnson will preside over the case in courtroom 8B. Defendant Johnson has ten misdemeanor and eight previous felony convictions for various charges including Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and Obstruction. On at least three other occasions, Johnson either spat at officers or on government equipment while in custody.
