ALPHARETTA BUSINESSMAN CONVICTED OF MOLESTING A 7-YEAR OLD GIRL

DEFENDANT WILL SERVE AT LEAST 10 YEARS IN PRISON

Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces the conviction of 44-year old Gary Goldstein for Child Molestation and Aggravated Sexual Battery. The conviction comes after a 7 year old girl reported Goldstein fondled her and used his fingers to penetrate her while she attended a child's birthday party at his home on April 11, 2003. The child told her parents the assault happened while she sat on Goldstein's lap. The parents reported the incident to officials at the Scottish Rite Child Advocacy Center and later the child bravely told her story to a Fulton County Jury.

Goldstein was found guilty of Child Molestation and Aggravated Sexual Battery which carries a minimum ten year prison term. The defendant's sentencing date has not been scheduled.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Fani T. Willis prosecuted the case; Fulton County Detective S. Rose investigated; and Judge Constance C. Russell presided.
