PIMP PLEADS GUILTY IN ‘DOG CAGE’ ASSAULT CASE

Victim Beaten for Trying to Escape Life of Prostitution

Atlanta- An Atlanta pimp will spend the next twelve years behind bars for ordering an attack on his former prostitute. 29-year-old David Walker was sentenced by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Alford Dempsey this afternoon after entering a guilty plea to charges of Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude, False Imprisonment and Pimping.

Walker was among seven people indicted last year in connection with the April 1, 2010 assault on a 21-year old woman who worked as a prostitute for him. The victim had run away from Walker in an attempt to escape her life of prostitution. She was forcibly returned under Walker’s direction. He then ordered his female co-defendants (also his prostitutes) to beat the woman. The victim was then forced to sleep in a feces and urine-lined dog cage used to house a pit bull. She was discovered by police following a tip and hospitalized for her injuries.

Co-defendants Amber Knight, 26 and Whitney Luckett, 27 pled guilty in March to aggravated assault, pandering and prostitution. Knight was sentenced to ten years to serve three with the balance probated. Luckett was sentenced to ten years to serve one commuted to time served for her role. Robertenette Gordon-Deaver, 23, also pled guilty to aggravated assault, false imprisonment and prostitution and was sentenced to ten years to serve one, balance probated. Cousins David Davidson, 25, and Anthony Davidson, 26, who orchestrated the woman’s return to the pimp, received similar sentences after pleading guilty to false imprisonment charges in connection with the case.

The case against Keyanna Powell is still pending.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Shondeana Morris of the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit. DA Investigator Frank Lupo led the internal investigation. Detective R. Randolph of the Fulton County Police Department was the lead detective.
