POLICE IMPERSONATOR GETS 2O YEAR SENTENCE DEFENDANT PLEADS GUILTY TO RAPE, KIDNAPPING AND POSSESSING FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY ATLANTA-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that 29-year-old Ayando Wilkinson, one of a spate of police impersonators in the metro area recently, has been sentenced to 20 years-all of which are to be served. Wilkinson pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and one count of impersonating a police officer. During his crime spree, which had metro women afraid to pull over for police officers, Assistant District Attorney Gayle Abramson says Wilkinson used a fake police badge to stop then assault women. Judge Jackson Bedford accepted the plea and immediately imposed the 20 year prison term. Wilkinson's trial had been slated to begin today when he decided instead to plead guilty to all of the charges against him. Cindy Williamson with the Fulton county DA's Office was
the senior investigator on the case.
