Terry Hall Convicted in 2002 Rape, Kidnapping from MARTA Station

Defendant Sentenced to Life in Prison without Parole plus 60 years

Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that, following his conviction, Terry Hall (a.k.a. Bernard McCoy) (21) has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole-plus 60 years-for the 25 June 2002 assault on a 56-year-old woman. Hall was found guilty of rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft by taking, and terroristic threats.

The defendant ambushed the victim in the parking garage of the Lindbergh MARTA Station in northeast Atlanta and forced her into the trunk of her car. He later raped her and ultimately left her tied up in an abandoned house in northwest Atlanta. She was able to free herself and go for help. During the hours in which she was locked in the trunk of the car, Hall simply drove around the city and engaged in sex with several other women in the backseat.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Gayle Abramson prosecuted the case, Atlanta Police Detective J. Morales investigated, and Judge John Langford presided.
