One of Atlanta’s “10 Most Wanted” Sentenced to Life for 2003 “Revenge” Killing

Willie Howell Gunned Down in Atlanta Street in Plain View of Neighbors & Friends

Atlanta Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that, following his conviction, Pablo Wright (32) has been sentenced to life in prison plus five years for the 13 August 2003 murder of Mr. Willie Howell (28). Wright was found guilty of murder, felony murder (two counts), aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. In the street in front of 2875 Browns Mill Road in southeast Atlanta, Wright shot and killed Mr. Howell in full view of numerous witnesses as revenge for the victim’s alleged involvement in a feud between the defendant and others approximately a week before the shooting. Wright fled the scene but was apprehended some months later after being placed on the Atlanta Police Department’s “10 Most Wanted” list of dangerous fugitives.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Shondeana Crews prosecuted the case. Atlanta Police Detective Redlinger, along with Stephen Barresi of the District Attorney’s Office, investigated. Judge John Goger presided.
