"LIFE IN PRISON" FOR YOUNG MOTHER IN SON'S MURDER SHORT LIFE ENDED BY BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO THE HEAD ATLANTA - Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces that after four and a half hours of deliberation by a Fulton County jury, Danielle Green has been found guilty on all counts in the murder of her five month old child, Da-Juan Green. The Defendant was charged with two counts of Felony Murder, one count of Aggravated Battery and three counts of Cruelty to Children for failing to provide necessary medical treatment for her child. After the verdict, Judge Marvin Arrington immediately sentenced 21 year old Green to life in prison. Green's boyfriend and co-defendant in Da-Juan's murder, 27 year old Christopher Lugo, will be tried separately at a later date. On January 11, 2006, Green and Lugo brought five month old Da-Juan to the Atlanta Medical Center, claiming that the child had stopped breathing. Doctors, who were unable to detect Da-Juan's body temperature, later determined that he had been dead for three to four hours prior to his arrival at the hospital. Da-Juan's death was caused by head trauma. The autopsy also revealed a healing spiral arm fracture and a healing skull fracture which never received medical attention. Superior Court Judge Marvin Arrington presided over the case. It was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorneys Linda Dunikoski and Fani Willis. Lead Detective on the case was APD Detective David Quinn. Investigator David White of the Fulton County District Attorney's Investigations Unit also assisted in the investigation of this matter.
