HOME INVASION SUSPECT INDICTED

Jonah Sanders and Accomplice Charged with Kidnapping Homeowner

Atlanta- Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announces the indictment of Jonah Sanders and Dagim Geda in the July 7, 2004 home invasion that terrorized a north Fulton family. 17-year-old Sanders and 20-year-old Geda are named in a 23 count indictment (04SC18855) charging then with burglary, kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by taking and criminal attempt to commit an armed robbery.

The charges stem from the break-in at the home of Dr. Nagme Khan during the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 7th. Police say the two men entered the home through an open window and threatened to begin shooting Dr. Khan’s children unless she gave them ten-thousand dollars. They are accused of stealing Dr. Khan’s 2003 Lexus and driving her to a bank where they attempted to force her to get the money. Geda and Sanders were arrested while waiting in a car for the bank to open.

In a separate indictment (04SC18016), Sanders along with 21-year-old Frankie Lee Williams, is charged with burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. These charges were filed in connection with the June 4, 2004 break-in at a home in the same neighborhood as Dr. Khan’s.

Sanders and Geda are being held without bond. They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Judge Marvin Arrington on August 12, 2004.
