19 YEAR OLD PIZZA DELIVERYMAN MURDERED
STATE VS. RODERICK RUFFIN AND SPENCER THOMAS
ATLANTA District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces that Roderick Ruffin and Spencer Thomas have pled guilty in the 2003 murder of 19 year old Allen Burdette. Fulton Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville sentenced Ruffin to 30 years and Thomas to 20 years in prison in the slaying.
On the evening of September 27, 2003, pizza deliveryman Allen Burdett had just completed his shift and was headed to 2839 Allegro Drive, friends home. Thomas (20), Ruffin (28) and Brown (23) went to the same home with the intent to commit a robbery. As Burdette arrived, the defendants opened fire, striking him in the neck as he drove up. Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville presided over the case. It was prosecuted by Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Fani Willis. APD Detective M. R. Carter was the Lead Detective on the case. Steve Barresi and Beth Suber of the Fulton County District Attorneys Investigations Unit assisted in the investigation.
