Lena Driskell Indicted for Murder at Senior Citizen Home

Defendant Shot 85-Year-Old Former Boyfriend after Break-Up

Atlanta—Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that Lena Sims Driskell (78) has been indicted for the 10 June 2005 murder of Mr. Herman Winslow (85) at the Hightower Manor retirement home at 2610 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in southwest Atlanta. Driskell has been formally charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
An application for bond reduction was to be heard tomorrow, 17 August, but, following the defendant’s posting of bond on Thursday, 11 August, the hearing will now not take place.

These charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
