FORSYTH MOTHER GUILTY OF MOLESTING YOUNG TEEN BOY

Aimee Melissa Josey Must Serve At Least 7 Years in Prison

Atlanta—A 43-year-old Cumming, Georgia mother is expected to plead guilty to child molestation charges tomorrow morning in Forsyth County Superior Court following her guilty plea to similar charges in Fulton County Superior Court today. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announces 43-year-old Aimee Melissa Josey pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation and one count of computer pornography and child exploitation. Fulton Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter sentenced Josey to 20 years in prison to serve 7. She is to remain on probation for the balance of her sentence, must register as a sex offender and must undergo psychiatric evaluation and appropriate treatment.

The Fulton case was discovered by police as they were investigating the allegations made by a boy in Forsyth. Police learned that in March of 2005, Josey—posing as her own teen daughter—began text messaging young boys. She eventually contacted a 13-year-old boy and arranged to pick him up at his home using the ruse that the fictitious girl’s mother would pick him up. She then squired him about a North Fulton mall where the boy’s younger brother and three of his friends saw the two together. The defendant then drove the boy to the parking lot of a bank, got into the back seat of her car with him where she kissed, fondled and performed oral sex on the child.

Assistant District Attorney Kimberly Esmond-Adams prosecuted the case with assistance from Fulton County DA Investigator Antoinette Beyah. ADA Esmond-Adams points out Josey is now subject to aggravated sentencing because with her plea today she is a convicted felon.
