Antonio Diaz Sentenced to 15 Years in Stabbing Death of William Shaw
Defendant Previously Convicted of 2002 Aggravated
Assault Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that Antonio Diaz (41) has been sentenced to 20 years (15 years of which are to be served in prison) for the 10 August 2002 stabbing death of William Keith Shaw (40). Diaz was convicted last month of aggravated assault. The defendant and Mr. Shaw became involved in an altercation at 156 Northwood Drive in northeast Atlanta. During the assault, the defendant stabbed the victim four times. Mr. Shaw collapsed and died soon thereafter in front of his home a short distance awayat 5621 Kingsport Drive NE. Diaz later admitted to an acquaintance that he stabbed the victim. Senior Assistant District Attorney Charles Webb prosecuted
the case, and Judge Isaac Jenrette presided.
