Anderson Carson Indicted for Assault on MARTA Police Officer

Defendant Charged in Attack with Brick

Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) announces that Anderson Carson (23) has been indicted on one count of aggravated assault on a peace officer and one count of obstruction of a law enforcement officer. On 1 December 2003, Carson came upon MARTA Police Officer J. Hardin at the Civic Center MARTA Station and struck him from behind in the head. He fled the scene but was taken into custody a short time later.

These charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
