MULTI-AGENCY COLD CASE SQUAD

Fulton County DA Turns Up The Heat on Cold Cases

TV investigators-- thanks to scriptwriters-- wrap up their cases within an hour. But in reality, cracking murder cases is methodical, painstaking work …especially if the cases have gone cold. In Atlanta, that's where the Multi-Agency Cold Case Squad comes into the picture.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, Fulton County Police Chief George Coleman, Fulton County Sheriff Jacquelyn Barrett, Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington and East Point Police Chief Frank Brown established the unit in March of 2004, to focus solely on the investigation and resolution of unsolved murder cases. The eight member team, which operates under the auspices of the District Attorney's Office, is pouring through old case files, locating old witnesses and identifying new ones. Advances made in DNA technology are breathing new life into evidence that was of limited value when the crimes were committed.

But we also need your help. If you know something or believe you might know something…anything… about an old murder case, please contact us now! If your information helps us solve a case, you may be eligible for a reward! Rewards have been established in many of the cases. All that's needed is an accurate tip. All tips and information will be handled confidentially. It does not matter how old or cold a case is. If you have information, we need it! We are investigating cases that go back 30 or 40 years.

Help the Cold Case Squad bring peace and closure to families of victims. Many of the offenders are still at large and still hurting people. Help us put them where they belong.
